Sclerotherapy is a treatment used to eliminate varicose veins and spider veins. It involves injecting a solution directly into the vein, causing it to become irritated and stick together. This, in turn, forces the blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades. Most report little to no discomfort during their session.
