Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) & Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a platelet-based treatment that uses components of your own blood to support natural tissue repair and regeneration. PRP contains a concentrated level of platelets and growth factors that play a role in the body’s healing processes and is commonly used in aesthetic medicine to support skin quality and hair health.

At The Cosmetic Clinic, PRP is our primary platelet-based treatment and is most often recommended due to its versatility, predictability, and clinical reliability. PRP may be used on its own or combined with other treatments, such as microneedling or energy-based procedures, as part of a personalized treatment plan.

In select clinical situations, PRF may be considered. PRF has a fibrin-rich structure that allows for a more gradual release of growth factors within the tissue and may be appropriate for specific treatment areas or goals. The decision to use PRP or PRF is guided by clinical judgment and is determined during consultation.

Both PRP and PRF are derived from your own blood and are performed by licensed medical professionals as part of individualized, consultation-led care.

How PRP Is Commonly Used

  • Supporting skin quality, tone, and texture

  • Enhancing results when combined with microneedling

  • Addressing acne scarring or uneven skin appearance

  • Supporting hair and scalp health as part of a treatment plan

Treatment recommendations and session planning vary based on individual needs and are discussed during consultation.

Consultation & Treatment Planning

PRP treatments begin with a consultation to review your goals, medical history, and suitability for treatment. Your provider will determine whether PRP is appropriate for you and whether PRF may be considered in specific cases. Treatment plans are customized rather than protocol-driven, and multiple sessions may be recommended depending on the treatment area.

The Benefits

  • Skin, Hair & Under Eye Area

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is derived from your own blood and contains a concentrated level of platelets and growth factors that support the body’s natural repair processes. PRP may be used to support skin quality and hair health, and in select cases may be considered for delicate areas such as the under-eye region.

PRP is often used on its own or in combination with microneedling to support improvements in skin tone, texture, and overall skin quality as part of a personalized treatment plan.

  • Stimulate & Restore

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is commonly used as part of hair and scalp treatment plans to support follicle health and the scalp environment. By delivering concentrated platelets and growth factors, PRP may help support the body’s natural processes involved in hair health and maintenance.

In select clinical cases, PRF may also be considered based on individual needs and treatment goals. Treatment recommendations are determined during consultation and tailored to each patient.
